Daedalian Foundation Bylaws

The Foundation was chartered in 1959. The last bylaw update was ratified on Feb. 14, 2022.

Articles of Incorporation

The Board of Directors approved incorporating the Daedalian Foundation on June 9, 1959.

Annual Report

At the 2022 annual membership meeting, financial and program information was presented to stakeholders and other interested parties.

Federal Tax-Exempt Status

On Oct. 13, 1960, the Daedalian Foundation received recognition as a 501(C)3 tax-deductible organization.

State Tax-Exempt Status

The Daedalian Foundation, located in Texas, has been recognized by the Comptroller of Public Accounts as an exempt non-profit operating under the guidelines of the Secretary of State since June 9, 1959.

Audit

The Daedalian Foundation does an annual examination of financial information to ensure compliance with federal mandates for nonprofit status. Annual audits take place during the spring months and are filed with the board of trustees during the fall/winter. Because of this, the most recent audit posted is for 2020.

IRS Form 990

The Foundation does not pay income tax, however, it is required to file IRS Form 990A as a report of income. Nonprofit deadline for extended filing is Nov. 15. The most recent filing is for 2020.

The Daedalian Foundation partners with like-minded educational organizations that support the same mission of inspiration and empowerment.

Air Camp

Located in Dayton, Ohio, this aviation adventure camp is for children in grades K-12. Daedalians support a weeklong camp for junior high students who take part in hands-on flight experience.

National Flight Academy

Located in Pensacola, Florida and near the home of the Naval performing team, the Blue Angels, this academy offers education and adventures for students from 7th to 12th grade interested in flight and STEM learning.

Lone Star Flight Museum

Located in Houston, Texas. There are many interactive “see and do” activities embracing STEM education and aviation education resources.

National Air Force Museum

Located in Dayton, Ohio, the museum offers education and inspiration for people of all ages. See the Order of Daedalians monument which stands in testament to all who flew, fly and will be inspired to a career in military flight.
