The Foundation continues with its incentive-based funds raising initiative called the "Eagle Wing." The Eagle Wing has several levels of membership as follows:

Wing Commander	$1,000+
Squadron Commander	$   750+
Flight Leader	$   500+
Element Leader	$   250+
Pilot	$   100+

Our Armed Forces continue to be in the midst of a pilot shortage. That fact, combined with what seems to be an ever-increasing deployment of our forces in overseas locations, has contributed to a lowering of morale, and aircraft without pilots to fly them.

The Daedalians may not be able to totally resolve that crisis, but we can do something about it. We are perhaps the only organization whose philanthropic expenditures are devoted 100% to encouraging young people to become military pilots and to pursue a career in military aviation. We provide scholarships to promising young men and women for that purpose. We are also in the midst of an introductory flight training program for selected youngsters who are sophomores in high school to sophomores in college.

The Daedalian Foundation has steadily increased the amount of matching funds for scholarships as our assets have grown. But we want more Flights to take advantage of the scholarship program. Concurrently there will be a requirement for additional funds to help support the program.
