A Daedalian trophy and award presented annually to the US Army unit determined by the Department of the Army to have demonstrated outstanding professionalism and contributed immeasurably to the advancement of flight safety in Army aviation during the award period.
This award is named in honor of Brigadier General Carl I. Hutton, USA, who was instrumental in establishing the Army's first Helicopter Advanced Tactical Training Course while Director of the Department of Air Training of the Artillery School at Fort Sill, Oklahoma. In 1954, he became the first Commander of the Army Aviation School and Commanding General, Fort Rucker, Alabama.
This trophy is presented each year during the Daedalian National Convention.
